Campground shortlist
Compare Chatfield and Cherry Creek for a Denver base, or plan a separate stay around State Forest or Rocky Mountain National Park. Match the season and site services to the rental.
Start with Chatfield or Cherry Creek for the Denver basecamp weekend. Compare them on your actual season and the services you need: winter changes can matter more than a park’s general facility list.
State Forest calls for choosing a named campground before settling the rental. Rocky Mountain National Park offers four summer RV campground options with different length limits, plus its own booking and delivery rules. Use those profiles to plan a stay around the campground rather than adding it to a Denver weekend.
CPW distinguishes basic, electric and full-hookup campsite categories and directs reservations through its reservation system. A park-level amenity list does not establish every site’s utilities, availability or dimensions. Match the reservation record to the exact rental proposal.
For RMNP, some sites now have electricity at Moraine Park, but NPS says no campsite has water hookups. Choose from the individual site records, with the services and restrictions for your dates.
For a delivered rental at Chatfield, Cherry Creek or State Forest, confirm permission with the park for the operator, site and dates. Agree the setup and collection windows with the rental owner as well.
Rocky Mountain National Park requires authorized commercial delivery and has specific trailer and handover conditions. Compare services and seasons in the guide below, then use the individual park profile to finish the booking plan.
