Profile notes

Start with the named campground

Choose the campground and site before booking the rental. State Forest reservations use CPWshop or the reservation phone service and can be made up to six months before arrival. A vehicle pass is also required.

Campsite check-in is 1 p.m. and checkout is noon. Match those windows to the rental handover and return plan rather than assuming a Denver pickup leaves the whole first day free.

Choose the services you will need

Facilities vary across the park: vault toilets, electrical hookups, a dump station and hand-pumped water or spigots are listed, but they are not a full-hookup promise for each site. Water is turned off October 31, with potable-water needs directed to the dump station.

Check the particular campground and site for your dates. Discuss water, power and waste arrangements with the supplier, and read current park alerts before departure.

Treat winter as a separate stay

Reservations are offered year-round, but several campgrounds have autumn closures and winter amenities can be unavailable. Check the named campground and dates before committing to the rental.

For delivery, get the park’s agreement for the proposed operator and exact destination, then reconcile setup and collection with the owner. Do not carry a Denver-area delivery proposal forward unchanged.

Keep the stay focused

Give State Forest its own campground-and-season plan. Have the selected site, current services and workable rental handover settled before adding other overnight stops.

Keep your essential services list short and explicit. If a facility cannot be confirmed for the stay, choose a different site or adjust the rental arrangement before paying.

Give the campground its own booking plan

Identify the named campground first, then record the selected site’s services and current seasonal operation. Ask the rental provider what water, electrical and waste arrangements the unit needs for that stay. Resolve a mismatch before paying for a larger or differently equipped unit.

Add the vehicle pass to the trip budget separately from the campsite and rental. Give the handover and return their own windows, particularly if you are collecting the rental elsewhere.

Compare the four campground service plans, then use the first-rental workbook to keep the site, unit and dates aligned.
