Profile notes

Reserve a site and align the handover

Make the campsite reservation through CPWshop or the reservation phone service; calling the park does not reserve a site. Choose the site for your unit and the services you need during the stay.

Check-in is 1 p.m. and checkout is noon. Align those times with the rental owner’s collection or delivery agreement, leaving room for the walkthrough and setup.

Plan around the seasonal utilities

Full hookups are seasonal, from mid-April to mid-October when temperatures allow. Electric-only sites are available year-round; winter camping is listed in C-loop sites 103–153, with water hookups shut down.

For a winter stay, ask the park to confirm showers and laundry before relying on them. Check the selected site’s services and plan your water and waste arrangements with the rental provider.

Use the right entrance for the unit

Deer Creek Entrance has a 13-foot height limit; taller camping units are directed to Plum Creek Entrance. Give the supplier the actual site and entrance information so that the unit’s dimensions are part of the arrival plan.

If you want delivery, confirm permission with the park for the proposed operator and setup. A campsite reservation and an owner’s delivery radius are separate from that agreement.

Finish the booking plan

Record the chosen site, utilities, arrival instructions and dates. Compare the rental and campsite cancellation deadlines before paying, and confirm any winter service essential to the stay.

Use the park camping page below for site information and the reservation channel. Keep the first evening free for the handover, setup and settling into the rental.

Build a simple first evening

Agree the arrival window and give setup its own time. Keep the selected site record with the actual unit dimensions and park entrance information. If delivery is proposed, agree where the walkthrough will happen and who is responsible for each setup task.

For winter, discuss the lack of site water hookups with the rental provider before selecting the unit. Ask the park about showers or laundry if either is essential to the stay. Compare Cherry Creek on the same dates, or use the services and seasons comparison.

Keep the rental and site confirmations in the workbook, then adapt the basecamp weekend around the agreed handover.
